Our Town: Eight seventh graders earn nationwide tribute

By JULIE GARRETT
Sun Staff writer

Eight students from across North Central Florida have earned grand recognition from Duke University's Talent Identification Program for being among the most talented seventh-graders in the United States.

Students invited to TIP ceremonies earned scores that would be the envy of many graduating seniors - while only in the seventh grade.

The eight area students who scored high enough to qualify for grand recognition are Terrence Ho, Daniel O'Donnell and Sarah Yost at Howard Bishop Middle School; Congyi Wu and Jeffrey Yelton at Fort Clarke Middle School; Stephanie Previc at St. Patrick's Interparish Catholic School; Laura Mauldin at Williston Middle School; and Amanda Walden at W.H. Beasley Middle School in East Palatka.
